Identifying marine pests made easier

Distinguishing marine pests from similar native species is now much easier with the release of the 'Marine pest identification guide'.

The guide comprises seventeen laminated cards, each describing the distinguishing features of one of the 17 species considered the most important marine pest threats to Australia.

Each card also includes information to enable users to differentiate the pest species from native species that look similar and may be confused with the pest.

The guide is also available as a template should other organisations and community groups wish to print and brand their own copies for distribution or collate information about pest species specific to their local area.
