Current outbreaks
Investigations by NSW Industry and Investment have shown that the sea squirt found at Twofold Bay near Eden earlier this year was not the invasive species, Didemnum vexillum, as suspected. Taxonomists have identified it as another, non invasive, species of the Didemnum genus. As a result all emergency response operations have been stood down and the quarantine order revoked.
